don't you hate these misleading headers.
i usually wait a day to see if there are a significant number of posters to the page.. but just look at the number of visitors that click on these kinds of subjects.. it builds up really fast.. i don't mind the time factor (1 milisecond) clicking on a bogus "new-secret-this will bring the org crashing down" type of post, but i have to admit it is very disappointing.. .

don't bother me with the josephus addendum.
i've already seen that debunked.. i am quite aware of the fact that the only evidence of jesus comes from his own followers who didn't even bother to write down his life for decades after jesus "died.
" don't know about you, but if i saw all that shit, i would have gone home and written three books about it that same day!.
Proof?
God never lies
The Bible is the authentic word of God
The Bible says Jesus lived here on Earth
Therefore God truthfully says Jesus existed
Therefore Jesus existed.

Socrates and Spinoza together couldn't challenge the conclusion.
yes, i discovered this program thanks to an obama supporter in cleveland.
if you are low income or receive a government program like food stamps, then you can get a free cell phone with 250 minutes and maybe even a $10/mo broadband internet connection.
with the economy being so bad, there is no reason to give up a phone and internet, which you need to find a job and get back to work-.
King Solomon,
I agree with you about your implying the lack of objectivity from many radio and TV shows with conservative or ultraconservative tendencies. However, you missed something, the list of stations with low-intellect listeners can be completed by adding the much longer list of lefty tendentious shows on TV and radio.
At times you seem a man of high intellect, not in this thread though.
the second 45 minute video is now online:.

As an outsider (never been a JW, only took a bible study 18 years ago and stumped a C.O. in the process) or a neutral party to the beef between WTS and apostates I am going to claim to be a disinterested party and render my veredict.
Eric, you definitely looked in control of the meeting and certainly kicked their butt. A very dignified exit you performed.
i noticed in the "magic" thread many former jw's no longer adhere to the bible as the unerring and accurate word of god.
if you feel this way, can you please list any specific reasons/arguments as to why not.
this thread isn't for debating purposes, but simply for listing.
Leolaia,
I sent you a private message
ya know what!
i'm tired of being polite and nice to jws.
esp when they try to shame you to your face with a smile.
JW's leaders make me mad because they say the stupidist things to justify their positions. Here's an email from an elder of a congregation. He was raised in the truth, he is also replacement of the c.o and a big honcho in every c.a. and d.a. He has 3 brothers, one has been a c.o. for many years, second is a lawyer in bethel, third brother is an elder who is also pursuing a law degree too. Oh I forgot his father is a retired medical doctor and an elder. I believe there's two other brothers, one I don't know the scoop, the other is DF'd.
The following is a part of multiple e-mails that he and I exchanged regarding the watchtower publications, prophecies, creation and higher education. I will post more later. Read and tell me if it doesn't make you cringe:.
"...Personally, I don't give more creedence to a scientists conclusions than I do to a polititian, religious leader or guy on the street. I also test everything I read in the Watchtower Publications. They are not perfect, they have been wrong before and I expect they will also be wrong in the future. But that applies to all publications. If, for example, a scientific journal reports one thing today, and next year informs us that new discoveries have shed new light on the subject and modified the previous conclusions, we hail it as a truth-seeking publication. That is what the Watchtower Publications are. They do not pretend to be inspired by God. Only the Bible can boast that distinction."
inside my head is a tangled ball of wool when it comes to what i believe.
i have days where i believe in a creator and other days when i don't.
then there are times when i refer to this as believing in 'something' but what exactly this something is, i have no idea.
I have never been a JW, but I have a wife, a daughter, two brothers and lots of friends who are.
Here's my two cents. Don't wory too much, just learn, read about science, philosophy, other religions, other cultures. You may never reach a conviction of the existence of a caring God, but the journey is mighty interesting and actually distracts you from your unnecessary concern about a caring God. As a person who is always interested in science, philosophy and in learning from smarter men, I find solace in knowing that I have reached similar conclusions about God as Albert Einstein and Baruch Spinoza did. I am willing to believe in a creator of the universe and the harmonious laws that regulate it. But certainly I do not believe in the God of the bible who dispenses reward and metes out punishment.
just like in another thread a saw, the best way to deal with my jws is not debating or arguing, but instead posing questions for them to answer or not answer.
i want to come up with specific questions relating to the 'global flood' that completely debunk it.
what say you, jw.net?.
Leolaia,
You and others in this site write as if you could have never been indoctrinated in the JW faith. You display erudition in your comments that makes it hard to believe that you could have ever been sold such conspicuosly fallacious argumentation as that of the WTS. Could I ask you for a very brief explanation of your background?
By the way, thank you. I never fail to read closely any of your comments whenever I see them. They never disappoint. Actually, they are always great.

Note I did not want to calculate the exact total, because the extremely arduous task of accounting for the zero year is beyond my abilities.
Funny! Unbelievable. A religion with 7 million members and billions in assets was founded by a man who couldn't perform basic Math
from the fall of 607 b .c.
to the fall of b .c.
from the fall of b .c.
I get the feeling that this subject has been discussed ad nauseam before, but I had to show you the following quote that I found in page 239 of “The Truth Shall Set You Free”, a book published in 1943 by our favorite publishing company. The title couldn’t be more ironic.
By the same rule the "seven times", or "times of the Gentiles", amount to 2,520 years. In Nebuchadnezzar's time the year began counting from the fall of the year, or about October 1, our time. Since he destroyed Jerusalem in the summer of 606 B .C., that year had its beginning in the fall of 607 B .C. and its ending in the fall of 606 B .C. Inasmuch as the count of the Gentile "seven times" began its first year at the fall of 607 B .C., it is simple to calculate when they end. From the fall of 607 B .C. to the fall of B .C. 1 is exactly 606 years. From the fall of B .C. 1 to the fall of A.D. 1 is one year, do not forget. Hence from the fall of B.C. 1 to the fall of A .D. 1914 is 1,914 years. Add now 606 years and 1,914 years, and the sum total is 2,520 years, ending in the fall of A.D. 1914.
Here the Watchtower not only is it lying (Babylonian years started in March or April, never “about October 1, our time”, but also the WTS is counting on their readers’ intelligence to be below average. And, since there was no indication of massive quitting in the 1940’s, then the average intelligence of JW’s was below average, or most never read the book. As late as 1943 the WTS still uses 606 B.C. as the year of the fall of Jerusalem, and tries to correct their zero error in calculating 2,520 years of the “Gentile Times” by explaining that to calculate the time between two events you go back one year from the starting point and then subtract this new date from the end date. It’s as if I were saying “I was born in Sept. 1965, but to figure out my age in Sept 2012 you start counting from Sept. of 1964. Therefore I am 48 years old” What????!!!!
